CFPB Expands Website to Accept Mortgage Complaints

The CFPB expanded its website to accept complaints by consumer relating to their mortgage loans, in addition to complaints regarding credit cards. The CFPB has prominently placed the complaint options at the top of the home page of their website.

As with the credit card complaint form, discrimination and fair lending issues seem to be a top priority for the CFPB. One of the first questions asked of consumers filing a complaint relating to either their mortgage loan or credit card complaint is whether or not they believe their issue is related to discrimination.

It is not clear at this time how or to what extent lenders will be included in the compliant resolution process with the CFPB.
